2025 US Championship

The next championship will be held in San Francisco! Tentative details below:

  • Friday, April 25th (optional):

    • 9:00 am: Preliminary A/B Placement Rounds 1 - 3

    • 1:00 pm: A/B Tournament Round 1

  • Sunday, April 27th
    • 8:30 am: A/B Tournament Round 2 - 4

    • 5:00 pm: Awards + Closing Ceremony

• Format:
  • The Preliminary tournament and Individual tournament will both be Swiss Style, where the players with the most wins (against the highest ranked opponents) will rank the highest. The Semi-Finals will be single-elimination and the Semi-Finals winners will advance to the Finals, where the winner of each class will be crowned Champion.
  • For all rounds through the semi-finals, players will have 10 minutes of thinking time and 40 seconds of byouyomi. The Finals match will have 20 minutes of thinking time and 40 seconds of byouyomi.
  • For the team tournament, players will have 12 minutes ("kiremake", no byouyomi).

The 2024 US West Coast Tournament was held in Los Angeles on September 21st and 22nd.
